Kick off!

18th April 2005, Monday

Another brand new 5-days work week as I once again counting down the null months which stands between me and my Japan trip... I fell into deep slumber within seconds on my long train trip to work due to the lack of sleep after a couple of episodes of "Gun Grave"

I am really grooving to the mafia storyline which really remind me of an amateur self-drawn/written comic I have read in my younger days...hmm, shall not digress into that... That "Brad Wong-Cannon" storyline though absurd, got a nice pace to it..

An entire day of working my ass off for the Germans (they better bring me for the World Cup next year)...

My mood was bouyed by a rampant Red Devils cruising into the finals of the FA Cup after beating Newcastle 4:1, well not just left the Gunners to oust to continue holding that accolade ..

Talking about the footballing scene, recently bought a "neighbourhood friendly' edition of the latest version of the wildly popular Championship Manager series, now known as Football Manager 5 2005, due to Sports Interactive's ejection from Eidos... Well been an avid supporter of this series for since my love for football develops back in the 1990s.. still remember gathering over a friend's place and could just spend the entire night looking at some statistics and totally entertain ourselves...

However as years gone by I realise playing CM, is like watching porn, you gotta play on your own, especially when the results are not going to your favor, it is always convenient to know that your buddies on the keyboard: "CRTL, ALT & DEL" are there to make sure you would get your ideal results by hook or by crook...

It was my favorite multi-tasking game in which I could watch my fave programmes on TV while chit-chatting over the telephone with friends, and yet able to lead my championship winning squad to more trophies in the cabinet...

Another fave feature of mine is the Pre-game editor in each I could create an alter ego (much like Enminen with Slim Shady), most probably a Dutch young and talented forward with name always containing "Krystofur" and "Heinz"...

I used to be able to play this freaking game all day, all week and even all year long , that my girlfriend slapped a ban of the game whenever she was around... how the addiction was superbly overwhelming, I would creep to start playing it when she dozed off...

well she should expect it as our very first date (way before we became an item) was to acquire a copy of CM....

Surely this management game series and myself had gone a long way, and we are like a pair of inseperable friends...and after looking through some of the screenshots of the new, improved 5th edition, I could feel bubble of excitement effervescing within me...
can't for this new friend to arrive via the post...

Japanese word of the day: サッカ ~sakkaa~ (Soccer), time to "kick off"...hmm that reminds me of another self drawn/written comic I read in my younger days of bewilderment.
