Beckoning old friends
28th June 2005, Tuesday
Struggling to fight the drowsiness this morning as the banquet on Sunday still taking it's toll on me...
YM was left fighting a lone battle today as LF went on leave and BY took an urgent leave, and she was unfortunate to endure her busiest day for the entire year so far....
The main thing today is that after some "Private Messaging" on my frequent local hobby forum, Katoots to a friend whom I had not been keeping touch with for a while, Foo, the aspiring film maker and the walking dictionary for Japan Live Action Heroes especially Kamen Rider...
It seems like he has recently handed in his letter of resignation for his engineer job at Singapore Technologies Aerospace to further pursue his dream of creative film and arts... To further his studies in this trade, a well recognised degree to better equip him in the industry...
It's been a while since we have met up, the last approximately 6 months back with a karaoke and dining session; so it's all too appropiate to catch up again, together with some old J-pop loving fans like Cheryl and Selina as well...
So with Foo giving the green light, I spent the morning contacting the girls for a viable time to meet up and the street-smart Selina who is well verse with some of the best dining places on the island provided me the suggestion of "Creation Restaurant" at Shaw Buildingand mentioned about Jackson, another clique member, had the same intention to meet-up...
So now we just wait for the particular date of the meet-up, which will most prob within next weekend, so that would be something to look forward to for the month of July..man I need to step out of my hermit's shell and mingle more often...
Talking about looking forward to something, these couple of days I have been shown sneak previews to a couple of movies that set to set the blockbuster ablaze in the festive seasons...
Firstly the C.S. Lewis' fantasy classic adaptation: "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch & the Wardrobe"; which seems to me like Harry Potter meets Lord of the Ring, the typical kind of perfect movie for entertaining the young and old the festive season...
Peter Jackson is back and this time his WETA team is taking the grip of the classic sci fi horror mammoth (literally), "King Kong"...
Well after watching the trailer, I feel "Jurassic Park" & "Mighty Joe Young" suddenly become overrated and no one can do it better than Jackson himself...
Sure a good way to stall my "movie buffing" bugs after a month of pricey movie indulgence and unleash much later in the year..hopefully my wallet is well prepared for that damage by then...

Japanese word of the day: 夢 ~yu-me~ (dream) It takes a lot of courage and desire, not too forget perseverance & hard work, to pursue and attain your dream, so all the best Foo, I know you will achieve it! がんばるよ!
