Norwegian aura anyone?
17th May 2005, Tuesday
Was totally burnt out last evening by the time the clock struck 12, it seems like 5 hours of sleep each on Saturday and Sunday was taking it's toll on me and I woke up, still very much groggy, you could easier do you Smackdown move on me....
Back to work, it seemed like the spam e-mail still spreads like wildfire across the board the root of the problem is still a bane for the IT team..well it's alright by me, just need to do more routine deletion of mails that's all...
Today a Norwegian progammer by the name of Tommy came together with the product kit specialist to perfect the program ran by the $800,000 white elephant (automated robot I mentioned before)...
One perk (well not exactly perks) of my line is to be able to meet with people from all over the world... firstly my institute alone resides researchers and staff from far and wide, countries like China, Malaysia, Scotland, India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mauritius, Germany, U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, South Africa, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Japan, Korea etc etc....
Then we have specialist or collaboraters from places like the U.S., and now from Norway
My only known fact about Norway is that they are part of the Nordic/Scandanavian regions together with the likes of Sweden, Denmark, Iceland & Finland, and they have high-grade salmon... of course Rosenberg is a big footballing club in Europe and they have such excellent footballers like Ole Gunnar Soksjaer, John Arne Risse, Tore Andre Flo, Erik Bakke and Ronny Johnsen..other than that not much is known about the people unlike the "Beautiful Bosom Blondes" from Sweden...
This guy who looks uncannily like the lead vocals of the British band, "Coldplay", Chris Martin; is really well versed in going through all the program scripts which read gibberish to me.. He must be a Virgo as well as he always try to perfect each single procedure even only nano error present,; of course they are true blue professional...
Well while enjoying the fact that the niggling problems we encountered on our inferior program starting to be corrected, we shared some information about his Nordic homeland...
A serene country with size trillion times bigger than our little "booger-size" (quoting some infamous Taiwanese foreign minister) island... but about the same population of 4 million... Like Sweden, they have very high taxes but free medical coverages.. The women workforce are given at least 10 months of maternity leave while the men get 6 weeks for paternity reasons (man our 3 days are way too measly)... and little did we know that today is the National Day for Norway as well...
Back to office, I felt amiss when my workstation has been man-handled as someone opened a folder of mine with an episode of "Samurai Champloo" and my worst fear became reality as JxMMy informed me the IT team came with an admin personel to check on my d/ling activities, and even took screen captures as evidence..I'm truly done for it, as my mind go berserk and my heart weakens.... I really don't know what would happen to me...my colleagues compassionately said a warning is the most probable punishment but it could be worse..but knowing myself I always tend to blow matters out of proportion to scare the wits out of myself... no matter what, I have to bear the consequences and of course deserve it...
